چکیده

Ultra Wideband (UWB) system is overlapped with various wireless systems, such as WLAN, WiMax and UMTS, which limits the use of UWB. Cognitive Radio (CR) enables UWB systems to efficiently use the overlapped spectrum without causing interference to other wireless systems. In this paper, we focuses on the low-complexity joint optimization algorithm design with respect to transmit power allocation and spectrum sensing time (SST) for maximizing the spectrum efficiency of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing based CRUWB system. The SST optimization algorithm minimizes the spectrum sensing time in order to maximize the time length of applying the power allocation algorithm for data transmission. The proposed group power allocation algorithm adaptively assigns the transmit power to the subcarrier groups according to the effective signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of each subcarrier group based on greedy algorithm. The proposed joint optimization algorithm can maximize the CR-UWB systems spectrum efficiency at a extremely low primary user SNR regime with low complexity. Keywords-Ultra Wideband; Cognitive Radio; Spectrum Sensing; Spectrum Management; Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing.

Joint optimal power allocation and sensing threshold selection for SU’s capacity maximization in SS CRNs

We propose a joint optimal power allocation and sensing threshold selection for capacity maximization at the secondary user (SU) in spectrum sharing (SS) cognitive radio networks (CRNs). Hence, both optimal power allocation (OPA) and spectrum sensing (SpSe) is considered in the SS CRNs model. The obtained results show that such a joint optimal selection improves the performance of the SU by max...

Cognitive Radio: UWB Integration and Related Antenna Design

The emerging feature-rich and high-data-rate wireless applications have put increasing demand on radio spectrum. The scarcity of spectrum and the inefficiency in its usage, as caused by the current radio spectrum regulations, necessitate the development of new dynamic spectrum allocation policies to better exploit the existing spectrum. The current spectrum allocation regulations assign specifi...

Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification Attack in Cognitive Radio Networks: An Analytical Model for Evaluation and Mitigation of Performance Degradation

Cognitive Radio (CR) networks enable dynamic spectrum access and can significantly improve spectral efficiency. Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) exploits the spatial diversity between CR users to increase sensing accuracy. However, in a realistic scenario, the trustworthy of CSS is vulnerable to Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification (SSDF) attack. In an SSDF attack, some malicious CR users deli...
